Is Day Shift starring Snoop Dogg gold?

Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco star in "Day Shift," a vampire hunting movie. The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

The premise sounds fun, but can director J.J. Perry deliver?

The movie's opening scene features a bizarre action sequence in which Jamie Foxx shoots at an elderly lady who turns out be a vampire. The two of them then have a wild fight that turns out to be a great time. The movie's use of ragdoll physics in its action scenes makes them pop in a way that many other action movies (or blockbusters) do not.

Day Shift has a lot of fun and is not too serious. I was able to enjoy it the entire way. I (vampire movie) found it entertaining and not too complicated. It featured great action and was unique. It was funny and made me laugh a lot. It also drew inspiration from the brilliant vampire films Blade and Lost Boys, two of my all-time favorite films. The acting was excellent, the directing was fantastic and the cinematography was very good. Day Shift will satisfy those who are looking for something that is entertaining but not too serious. It's great fun.

Day Shift was mixed. While there were some good action scenes, and some interesting characters (the two brothers, Seth), the villain was terrible, and there were a lot mediocre characters. I suppose that helps the more talented characters shine. There appeared to be scenes missing from the film. Bud's neighbor acts like she is a friend even though they only had about 3 minutes each before the final scene. Bud's prank phone calling at the gas station was the best moment of the movie. It was hilarious and it was so much fun to watch. However, the movie didn't end as well. Day Shift is, in general, a mixed bag. There are parts that are fantastic and others that are horrible. But if you're looking for a few laughs, you could do worse than this movie.

The movie is worth the effort thanks to Snoop Dogg. I mean, who doesn't love Snoop Dogg? He's cool.
